Cat Grooming
Most salons refuse cats, or take them and rush. Cats get their own appointment here, and their own pace.
From $50 for a bath and comb out, from $60 for a full groom including a lion cut.
How it goes
- Tell me the history first. Especially if a previous groom went badly, or if a vet has ever needed to sedate for handling. It changes how I plan the visit.
- Short and quiet. Cats do better with a shorter appointment and fewer people around than dogs do.
- Comb out, bath, dry. Slowly. A cat who is done is done, and I would rather finish next visit than push.
- Trim or lion cut. Sanitary trim, belly, or a full lion cut if the coat has matted past combing.
- Nails and ears. Included.
I do not sedate, and I will not hold a cat through a meltdown to finish a job. If we get half of it done calmly, that is a good visit and we finish another day.

Do cats actually need grooming?
Long-haired cats do, and short-haired seniors often do once they stop grooming themselves properly. More here.
What is a lion cut?
A short body clip that leaves the head, legs and tail. It is the usual answer for a long-haired cat whose coat has matted past the point of combing out.
Why do cats cost more than a small dog?
Because they take longer. It is a slow job done at the cat's pace, with breaks. The price reflects the time, not the size.
My cat is difficult. Should I even try?
Tell me exactly how difficult when you book. I would rather know and plan for it. If your cat truly cannot be handled safely without sedation, that is a vet conversation and I will say so.
Grooming hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, inside Camp Bow Wow Monument in Monument. Those are not the same as Camp Bow Wow's front desk hours, so please come during grooming hours. Serving Monument, Palmer Lake, Woodmoor and Gleneagle.
